Aura Beauty is an AI-powered beauty search engine combining AI face scanning, personalised recommendations, real user insights, and smart price comparisons to transform how beauty is bought online.

Role Description

We’re looking for a Chief Marketing and Sales Officer (CMSO) to join our founding team — a visionary leader who can build and scale our marketing and sales engine from the ground up.

This role is perfect for someone with a strong personal network within the beauty industry , a passion for brand-building, and the ambition to help shape a company from its earliest days. You’ll be responsible for driving growth by forging partnerships with beauty brands, marketplace and retailers as well as overseeing customer acquisition, and building a compelling market presence.

As an early hire, this position is equity-based, offering significant equity and a seat at the decision-making table.

Brand & Partnership Development

  • Proactively identify and secure partnerships with beauty brands, influencers, and retailers to develop brand equity.
  • Represent the brand at industry events, communities and investors
  • Leverage personal and professional networks to initiate high-value collaborations, co-branded campaigns, and distribution opportunities.
  • Negotiate strategic alliances that drive new customer acquisition and long-term loyalty.

Marketing Oversight

  • Work with Co-founder and CEO on all aspects of brand strategy, messaging, and visual identity across digital and physical channels.
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns (social media, influencer, paid, content, and experiential).
  • Ensure marketing initiatives are data-driven, innovative, and aligned with evolving beauty trends and consumer preferences.
  • Define and drive sales strategy, targets, and execution plan across channels (DTC, retail, B2B).
  • Support the buildout of key retail or distribution relationships initiated through partnerships.
  • Optimise sales funnel performance and ensure marketing-to-sales alignment.
  • Leadership & Culture

  • Build and mentor high-performing marketing and sales teams.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that thrives on creativity, customer obsession, and accountability.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive team, driving growth and innovation.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years in senior marketing / sales leadership roles, ideally within beauty, wellness, or luxury consumer products.
  • Proven ability to establish and grow partnerships with leading brands, influencers, and retailers in the beauty ecosystem.
  • Extensive personal network within the beauty industry, with the ability to activate it quickly.
  • Expertise in marketing analytics, CRM systems, and omnichannel sales strategies.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
