Job Description
The Key Objectives For This Role Are
- Develop and optimize chemical processes to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring the application of best engineering practices
- Ensure the quality and integrity of process designs through rigorous review and validation
- Ensure all processes comply with safety standards and environmental regulations
- Identify and resolve issues in existing processes to maintain smooth and safe operations
- Implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance process performance and safety
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines, operations teams, and stakeholders to ensure integrated and effective process solutions
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
Responsible for process design and prepare / review the basis of design, process specification, data sheets, process drawings such as PFDs / P&IDs / DPTDs / PSFS etc. and other process deliverables on a projectCarry out process simulation using HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, Pipe Net and Pipe Sim etc. and prepare heat and material balanceUndertake detailed calculations to develop the process design and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculationsCarryout equipment sizing, line sizing, pump hydraulics, safety relief calculations and produce process calculation reportCarryout dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.Carryout depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system designEnsuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management systemParticipate in PHA, HAZOP and other safety reviewsBe willing to mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the teamIdentification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Lead Engineer / Discipline headsAssimilating the evolution of new products and technology and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applicationsAbility to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems and assist Project and client team for decision makingAs Senior Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers and designers and delivering the engineering requirements of the projectSupport on tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of workAssisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre - qualification documents in what relates to Process engineering designQualifications
Expected
Bachelor s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore / Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCC regionMust have at least three (3) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing team of Engineers and designersOffshore experience is must, whilst ADNOC experience is desirePrevious experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantageProficient in Process Simulation software s such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA etc.Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business softwareExcellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skillsExperience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standardsCompany Industry
