Fiber Installation Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiber Installation Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic systems to ensure reliable high-speed internet and communication services. Key Responsibilities :

Install and terminate fiber optic cables (FTTH, FTTP, FTTB, etc.)

Test and troubleshoot fiber networks using OTDRs, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

Splice fiber optic cables and enclosures in aerial and underground settings

Ensure all installations meet industry standards and safety regulations

Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors

Maintain accurate documentation of installation, testing, and repair activities

Provide technical support during service outages or system upgrades

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or related field preferred

13 years of experience in fiber optic installation or similar role

Familiarity with fiber optic tools and equipment (fusion splicer, OTDR, etc.)

Strong understanding of networking principles and fiber technology

Valid drivers license with clean driving record

Ability to lift and carry equipment, work in confined spaces, and at heights

Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills

Preferred Skills :

Certifications such as FOA CFOT or equivalent

Experience with aerial or underground fiber deployments

Knowledge of local / state regulations related to telecom installation
