The job scope includes :
- Maintain and culture microalgae strains under laboratory conditions
- Optimize protocols to enhance efficiency, stability and upscaling
- Records information on appropriate production records, logs and other report forms
- Provides inputs to reports as required
- Helps conduct experiments and tests according to pre-arranged procedures, records relevant data
- Prepare and analyze experimental data, documenting results accurately
- Prepare samples to support scientists & associate scientists
- Assist in troubleshooting technical challenges related to microalgae, associated equipment and assays
- Performs daily assigned tasks per the operating supervisor
- Wash glassware and prepare materials before and after autoclaving
- Perform decontamination and disposal of laboratory waste
- Uses and maintains relevant microalgal lab equipment in coordination with lab manager
- Follow laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Supports the rescue and research field operations when required
- Actively contributes to the outreach goals of the YSWRR
- Collaborates with SeaWorld Abu Dhabi Zoological and Education teams as required
- Contributes to the overall success of the YSWRRC projects by performing all other duties as assigned

Job Essentials :
Bachelor's degree in marine sciences, Marine Ecology and Biology, or related fields.Minimum of 2-year experience in a research laboratory or microalgal culturing facilityExcellent English verbal and written communication skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to represent the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Center to scientific community, general public, media, government agencies, and non-governmental associationsExcellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated commitment to company values and safetyJob Desirables :
