The role?
The Crane Technician - Electrical is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems on offshore cranes. Your expertise in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs will be essential to maintain the reliability and functionality of this critical equipment.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
- Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on offshore cranes, with a specific focus on the Safe Load Indicator (SLI) system.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities on the to ensure accurate load measurements and safe crane operations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Diagnose electrical faults in the SLI system, analyze equipment malfunctions, and develop effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure accurate load monitoring.
- Install, calibrate, and upgrade Electrical & SLI systems on offshore cranes, ensuring compatibility and adherence to specifications.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment history, repairs, and replacements performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on offshore installations, ensuring personal and team safety at all times.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide technical support as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to SLI systems and offshore crane operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Requirements
A recognized apprenticeship or qualification.At least a vocational / technical High School Diploma Holder.Safety Training CertificationCompex certification will be an advantage.At least 5 years of experience in the same field3 years in a lifting equipment environmentExperience in repair & maintenance of cranes-related equipmentExperience in working to schedules.Preferred
Experience in the offshore service industry or a similar environmentExperience in cranes & lifting equipment maintenance & repair.Personal Qualities;
