The Pastry Chef Instructor is a full-time faculty position within the Practical Arts department at ADHA – Les Roches, designed for a pastry professional with proven teaching experience in pastry education. Candidates with a supervisory-level background such as Sous Chef may also be considered, provided they demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and student development.

This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to engage students through hands on learning, feedback and mentorship. It is particularly well suited to professionals who value educational impact, structured collaboration, and long-term growth within a learning institution.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver Pastry Curriculum : Teach and manage the intensive Pastry Atelier course, aligning lessons with learning outcomes and academic standards.
  • Lead Kitchen Operations : Oversee daily mise en place, ingredient management, hygiene, and equipment use.
  • Mentor and Evaluate Students : Provide clear instruction, ongoing feedback (verbal and written), and assess students’ performance in line with institutional grading practices.
  • Support Program Expansion : Design and teach public-facing short courses, lifestyle workshops, and themed pastry sessions.
  • Contribute to Events : Lead in-house pastry production for internal events, receptions, and exhibitions, reducing reliance on external suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Faculty : Coordinate with culinary instructors to integrate pastry into the broader Practical Arts framework.

Education and Professional Qualifications :

  • Diploma in Pastry Arts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, pastry arts, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in teaching, training, or student mentorship is highly desirable.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of professional pastry experience, including supervisory responsibilities and / or formal teaching roles within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills :

  • Expertise in classical and contemporary pastry techniques.
  • Strong organizational and production planning skills.
  • Pasion for teaching and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work flexible within a collaborative, academic environment.
  • Fluent in English
  • Arabic language skills are considered an asse
