Carl Zeiss Vision, a global leading and innovative Foundation in optical lens and diagnostic optical instrument business, is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to service optometrists and opticians in East-Africa. The applicant will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver growth by regularly visiting existing customers in East-Africa.
  • Prospect, open and develop new accounts within East-Africa.
  • Present new and current products.
  • Support the customer with product, sales, and order process training.
  • Initiate and support marketing promotions of the customers to ensure brand visibility and sales.
  • Work in the field with customers in their own outlets to improve sales processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and “partner” with customers.
  • Ability to actively close sales.
  • Ability to utilize reports and presentations to effectively manage the customer relationship.
  • Support the customers with registration of instruments and lenses.
  • Reports on regular basis to the Regional Sales Manager.

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to digest, comprehend, and verbalize highly technical products.
  • Demonstrated professional sales skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills. French and Swahili is a plus.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Good knowledge of the optical business.
  • Must be willing and able to travel in East-Africa with hotel stays on a regular basis.
  • A driver license is a plus.
  • Education

  • Experienced (minimum 5 years) Sales agent in the optical field, optometrist, or optician.
