Head of Department (HOD) – Maths – Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head of Department (HOD) – Maths to lead our dynamic Maths department at a prestigious school in Abu Dhabi, UAE . This exciting leadership role is available for an August 2025 start . The school offers a blend of the American curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) , providing a comprehensive and innovative educational experience.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and manage the Maths Department , overseeing curriculum development, lesson planning, and the academic progress of students.
Ensure the effective implementation of the American curriculum and IB standards, fostering a rigorous and engaging learning environment.
Support, mentor, and guide teaching staff, helping them improve their practice and achieve professional goals.
Assess student progress and implement strategies to support and challenge students of all abilities.
Promote a culture of excellence in teaching and learning across the department.
Collaborate with senior leadership and other department heads to drive school improvement and achieve academic goals.
Organize departmental meetings, workshops, and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.

Requirements :

Western-trained teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field (a Master’s degree or teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent is preferred).

Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in a similar leadership role, ideally in a school that follows an American curriculum or IB system .

Teaching license from an accredited institution.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience in implementing curriculum changes, assessments, and educational innovation.

Passionate about fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of educators.
