Senior Legal Counsel - Finance

We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Finance Counsel to join a dynamic and growing legal team at one of the region’s most strategically significant energy groups. This newly created position reflects the growing complexity and volume of finance-related matters across the business, and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders on some of the most high-profile deals in the sector.

Key Responsibilities

Advise on a broad range of financing transactions, with a focus on corporate and project finance, debt structuring, loans, and other financing facilities.
Support internal stakeholders across Treasury, Strategy, and Business Development on funding initiatives, liability management, and capital structuring.
Draft, review, and negotiate finance documentation, including loan agreements, security packages, intercreditor arrangements, and NDAs.
Partner with external counsel on major financings and ensure commercial alignment with internal objectives.
Assist in managing legal risk, transaction execution, and internal governance processes related to finance transactions.
Provide training and guidance to business stakeholders on finance law developments and contractual best practices.

Candidate Profile

Qualified lawyer with 7–10 years’ post-qualification experience, including training at a Magic Circle or leading US law firm.

Strong track record advising on cross-border loan and debt transactions; project finance and energy-sector experience highly desirable.

In-house experience (secondments or permanent) a plus, but not essential.

Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team-based, cross-functional environment.

Existing experience in the energy sector a plus.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where legal advice is expected to be both technically sound and commercially pragmatic.
