Strategic Sourcing & Category Strategy : Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for retail-related categories ensuring cost savings, operational efficiencies, and supplier innovation.
Retail Spend Optimization : Leverage deep expertise in retail procurement to identify value-for-money solutions, consolidate spend across the MIRAL group, and implement supply chain re-engineering and value engineering initiatives.
Supplier Relationship Management : Build and manage strategic relationships with retail suppliers to enhance performance, ensure supply continuity, and foster innovation through collaborative partnerships.
Contract Management & Compliance : Support the development and execution of robust contracts for retail goods and services, ensuring alignment with internal policies, Delegation of Authority (DOA), and regulatory requirements.
Negotiation & Value Delivery : Lead procurement negotiations within the retail category to secure optimal commercial terms, drive value, and support business units with coaching and mentoring on procurement best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, promoting procurement excellence and supporting retail operations with strategic sourcing insights and guidance.
Training & Capability Building : Contribute to internal and external training programs to elevate understanding of retail supply chain dynamics and strategic sourcing methodologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with the Procurement Operations team to streamline retail procurement processes and enhance supply chain utilization across the organization.
Essential :
Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (or Studying towards
Degree or Diploma level – ideally business or finance related
5+ years’ experience in Procurement Retail Category and ideally within Strategic Sourcing or Category Management position
5+ years demonstrable experience of leading practice techniques to include practical knowledge and evidenced application of category management, strategic sourcing, management of complex tenders and contract and supplier management
2+ years experience of procurement in the UAE / GCC
Excellent leadership skills supported by strong planning and delivery techniques
An effective communicator, using a broad range of techniques to motivate, stimulate and influence teams and individuals at all levels of the organization
Customer Service Orientated and highly effective communicator and team player
Results Orientated with strong performance management background supported by accurate and well evidenced management reporting.
Expert in identifying, developing, setting and achieving targeted sourcing strategies and initiatives aligned to business objectives
Experienced in supply market research & analysis, supplier identification & qualification, tender process, contract management and setting of tangible and robust performance criteria
An excellent negotiator considerate of all variables and the ability to think and act strategically with strong commercial awareness, ability to interpret and negotiate contractual terms
Ability to identify commercial and operational risk and construct and negotiate contractual SOW which effective mitigate these risks.
