Operations Director
Outstanding opportunity to join my client's business in a pivotal position, reporting to the Managing Director. This role can be based in Aberdeen or Dubai (no relocation assistance provided). As the Operations Director, you will lead the planning, directing, and coordinating of the business's international operations.
The goal is to enhance and develop the group's reputation for high-quality service delivery while taking primary responsibility for all operational activities globally and increasing profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Managing Director with strategic planning, development, and implementation of the international business plan.
- Promote and monitor continuous efficiency improvements in line with the business plan.
- Delegate responsibilities and supervise key operational personnel, providing guidance and motivation to maximize performance.
- Provide technical support internally and externally.
- Ensure the delivery of high standards of service across the group's operations.
- Monitor and report on operational performance, including KPIs.
- Establish and maintain structured reporting and management systems for group operations.
- Develop and execute business strategies to meet the goals of the board and shareholders.
- Manage the Group's Budget and P&L, including :
- Driving revenue growth by exceeding sales targets.
- Improving efficiency and gross margin performance.
- Controlling overhead expenditure.
- Managing customer relationships for prompt payment of receivables.
- Approving expenditures within delegated authority.
- Report to the board on regional activities and pricing strategies to inform future development.
- Build and develop an operational management team capable of delivering group objectives.
- Coordinate activities related to production, pricing, and distribution, ensuring regional alignment.
- Establish policies, procedures, and goals in collaboration with managers and staff, liaising with HR and QHSE departments as needed.
- Prepare and circulate monthly operational reports and financial analyses promptly.
- Monitor performance against plans and budgets, addressing variances and performance issues.
- Work with HR and management to ensure personnel and resource needs align with operational and regional development plans.
- Ensure compliance with company and client policies and procedures.
You should have a technical background in top-deck drilling equipment, with deep knowledge of overhaul and repair processes. Experience within the drilling contractor sector is highly desirable, along with extensive industry understanding.
The position offers a six-figure salary and package.
