Job Summary :

The Food Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring that all food prepared and served by our company complies with food safety and sanitation regulations. This includes developing and implementing food safety policies, conducting audits and inspections, training staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal applicant will be detail-oriented, knowledgeable in food safety laws, and experienced in food service or catering operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and hygiene protocols in line with HACCP, ISO , and local health regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas, storage facilities, equipment, and catering venues to ensure sanitary conditions.
  • Monitor food handling, preparation, storage, and transport procedures to prevent contamination.
  • Train kitchen and service staff on food safety procedures, personal hygiene, allergen management, and proper handling techniques.
  • Maintain and update all necessary documentation related to food safety audits, inspections, and staff training.
  • Coordinate with local health authorities and manage responses to food safety incidents or complaints.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay up to date on changes in food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ensure pest control measures are in place and effective.
  • Lead food safety meetings and contribute to overall quality assurance strategies.

Qualifications :

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Certification in food safety management systems HACCP, SERV Safe, ISO ).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food safety or quality assurance, preferably in catering industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, training, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and food safety documentation systems.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience working with large-scale catering operations.
  • Knowledge of allergen control and nutrition labelling.
  • Crisis management and root cause analysis capabilities.
