Role Overview
A leading tertiary care hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled consultant cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in Electrophysiology . The role involves diagnosing and treating complex arrhythmias, performing advanced electrophysiological procedures, and contributing to the development of a high-performing cardiac rhythm management program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and management of patients with arrhythmias, syncope, and conduction disorders
- Perform advanced electrophysiology studies (EPS) , catheter ablations , and device implantations (e.g., pacemakers, ICDs, CRTs)
- Interpret ECGs, Holter monitors, event recorders, and other rhythm diagnostics
- Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and imaging specialists in multidisciplinary care
- Participate in electrophysiology lab development, quality assurance, and technology upgrades
- Mentor junior physicians and contribute to continuing medical education
- Ensure compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and international clinical standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in CardiologySubspecialty fellowship in Cardiac ElectrophysiologyBoard-certified in Cardiology and Electrophysiology (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, or equivalent)Minimum 5 years of post-specialty experience, including consultant-level practice in electrophysiologyEligible for DOH Consultant licensure (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi)Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantagePreferred Attributes
Experience with advanced mapping systems (e.g., CARTO, EnSite)Skilled in managing atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and complex device therapiesStrong leadership and communication skillsInterest in clinical research, innovation, or EP program development
