As an essential team member on the market-leading publisher in Advanced Placement education under the BFW Publishers imprint, the High School Program Manager for AP® Social Studies is responsible for the overall health and financial performance of their respective discipline portfolio including cultivating relationships in, and knowledge of, their markets; evaluating and editing content and directing authors in project planning; creating and directing forward- looking revision plans that address teacher, student, and administrator needs in both print and digital environments; recruiting hiring, and managing authors, contributors, and freelancers to implement development plans; strategic, long-term planning; list management with a focus on program cycling; acquisition of selected new programs; budgeting; forecasting, profitability; relationship building with internal colleagues; and advocating for their programs with marketing and sales.
The High School Program Manager will demonstrate experience creating successful programs, will understand the challenges and opportunities associated with publishing on schedule and on budget, and will be able to work effectively with others to implement and advocate for strategies to balance and scale the transition from dependence solely on print to a future that is more reliant on digital with an emphasis on enhancing learning. This position is being filled with a preference for close access to our New York City office with the possibility for strong candidates to be eligible for remote employment.

Physical Requirements :
This position requires periods of close concentration and the ability to multi-task in an open office, noisy / busy environment. Must be able to travel occasionally, and work more than 40 hours a week as needed.
