Senior Buyer – Furniture
Duties and Responsibilities :
1.Assortment Curation : Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to develop and execute a strategic assortment plan for furniture products that meets revenue and margin targets.
2.Vendor Management : Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with furniture manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors, negotiating terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to ensure optimal stock levels and assortment diversity.
3. Product Selection : Collaborate with the design and merchandising teams to select furniture products that align with our brand image, customer expectations, and store aesthetics, ensuring a compelling and cohesive shopping experience
4.Quality Control : Conduct regular quality assessments of furniture products to ensure they meet established standards, working closely with suppliers to address any quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
5.Inventory Management : Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and demand patterns to make data-driven decisions for replenishment, clearance, and new product introductions.
6.Price Management : Analyze market dynamics and pricing strategies to determine competitive and profitable pricing for furniture products, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer value perceptions.
7.Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to execute promotional strategies, drive product launches, and optimize in-store and online presentations of furniture products.
8.Supplier Relationships : Cultivate strong and collaborative relationships with suppliers, conducting regular business reviews, resolving conflicts, and fostering open communication to ensure mutual success.
9.Market Research : Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences in the furniture sector to anticipate shifts and capitalize on opportunities.
10.Team Leadership : Mentor and guide junior buying team members, sharing expertise, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications
1.Education : Bachelor’s degree in business, Merchandising, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
2.Work Experience : Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in furniture buying, with a proven track record of successful assortment management and vendor negotiations.
3.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
4.Proficiency in using buying and inventory management software tools.
