Job Purpose

Responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance on crew rostering across multiple Air Operator Certificates (AOCs). Collaborates with hub stakeholders, driving initiatives for group-wide optimal manpower utilization, compliance with regulatory requirements, and operational excellence that enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and crew satisfaction.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Develops a centralized rostering strategy aligned with business objectives across multiple AOCs and collaborates with function leads in each hub to ensure effective execution. Provides guidance and direction to the hubs on Crew Planning and Control matters.
  • Reviews administrative and operational aspects of Crew Planning and Control across all AOCs, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Reviews policies and procedures, recommending enhancements to ensure compliance with local regulations and group standards.
  • Supports the implementation of SOPs across all AOCs to ensure compliance with aviation regulations, operating standards, and company policies.
  • Reviews the long-term crew planning strategy to align with business goals and operational demands.
  • Supports digital transformation and automation initiatives to optimize crew efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Reviews schedules and recommends adjustments to optimize crew utilization and minimize headcount needs.
  • Provides strategic guidance to stakeholders managing internal and external entities to ensure crew members’ entry requirements for new stations are planned and executed accurately and timely.
  • Advises on future workforce challenges and trends, providing proactive strategies to address them.

Key Responsibilities - Continued

  • Reviews risk management initiatives related to fatigue, regulatory compliance, and operational disruptions.
  • Drives best practices across multi-AOC operations, ensuring system and procedure harmonization.
  • Conducts periodic stakeholder meetings and seeks feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Mentors and advises a group-wide team of professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Business Administration, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulatory frameworks, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations, Fatigue Risk Management, and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven crew optimization solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to various hubs and locations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across organizational levels.
  • Proven expertise in managing multi-hub / multi-AOC crew operations.
  • Work Experience

  • 12+ years in aviation crew planning, manpower management, or airline operations.
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing crew planning, scheduling, or workforce management.
