Job Description
AESG are currently looking for experienced and driven MEP Cost Manager with a strong electrical engineering background to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing the commercial and cost management aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) packages, with a primary focus on electrical systems across a range of building or infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the Team Leader / Project Lead with the delivery of allocated tasks.
- Solid experience and capability of pre-contract services from feasibility through tendering, measurement and pricing of building MEP works and infrastructure utilities for estimating and preparation of Bill of Quantities
- Manage and monitor project budgets, identify cost variances, and report financial risks and opportunities.
- Provide input during design stages to ensure cost-efficient MEP solutions, including value engineering exercises.
- Review and provide commercial insight during procurement and tendering stages.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all cost-related outputs with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge in post-contract services including interim valuations, payment applications, change control, and assessment of variations.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate delivery within financial constraints.
- Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of the projects.
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum 5+ years experience in MEP cost management, with demonstrable focus on electrical systems.Strong understanding of construction costs and market rates, particularly within the UAE and KSA.Demonstrated experience in both pre-contract and post-contract works.Proficiency in cost management software CostX proficiency is required.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Professional membership (RICS) is an advantage.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with building services and infrastructure projects.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks across complex projects.Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, and smart building technologies is beneficial.Why join AESG?
