Responsibilities

• Perform professional duties as a consultant obstetrician / gynecologist, including surgical care in the operating room and outpatient department for gynecologic and obstetric conditions, both emergency and planned.
• Cover the Delivery Room, admitting patients, reviewing history, planning care, performing deliveries, and collaborating with midwives.
• Respond promptly to calls for consultation from the Emergency Service.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations in hospital and outpatient settings.
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and take appropriate actions.
• Consult with physicians from other services as needed.
• Communicate with patients' families regarding patient condition and plans.
• Support Continuous Quality Improvement and develop standards of care.
• Collaborate with other HODs on policies and procedures to promote quality healthcare.
• Recommend patient transfers to other facilities when required.
• Keep the Division Head informed of departmental activities and seek guidance as needed.
• Exercise effective interpersonal skills with staff, colleagues, and management.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and administrative information.
• Demonstrate dependability in fulfilling duties and obligations.
• Provide on-call emergency coverage for obstetric emergencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
