We are WSP Join us and make your career future ready Think bigger scale Think higher profile Think groundbreaking Join WSP and you ll be at the heart of an international collective of innovative thinkers all dedicated to growing and sharing their expertise working on projects that transform society for all of us WSP Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer with expertise in electrical telecom and SCADA systems particularly within the context of substations The ideal candidate will assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing the planning design installation testing and commissioning of electrical telecom and SCADA systems for substation projects The role requires a strong technical background excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams Your new role whats involved Managing all aspects of Telecom and SCADA systems and cybersecurity for substation projects Participate in project planning including scope definition budget estimation and schedule development ensuring that milestones are met on time and within budget Wellversed in the design and review of projectrelated telecom documents including design and installation testing and commissioning etc Be well versed with the applicable codes local regulations and industry standards to discharge duties as a resident engineer Collaborate with design teams to review engineering drawings specifications and technical documents Provide valuable input into the design phase to optimize systems Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment and materials required for substation projects Oversee the installation testing and commissioning of electrical telecom and SCADA systems in compliance with project requirements applicable codes and industry standards Raising the NCR NonCompliance Report as and when any noncompliance is found by EPC contractors Also guide the EPC contractors to resolve the issues to meet the project requirements codes and standards Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety regulations Provide technical support during construction activities and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise Prepare project progress reports documentation and asbuilt drawings for client review and approval Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses Monitoring and reporting project progress to senior management Cultivate a culture of safety and professionalism within the team Assist in training and mentoring junior engineering staff members as needed Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to electrical Telecom and SCADA systems for substations This job description is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and competencies associated with the job but rather an indication as to the core of the position The incumbent may perform other duties and responsibilities as required
