Key Responsibilities 1 Financial Reporting Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records Generating financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations such as GAAP or IFRS 2 Bookkeeping Managing daytoday accounting tasks such as recording transactions Maintaining ledgers journals and other financial records Reconciling bank statements and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded 3 Tax Preparation and Planning Preparing and filing tax returns for businesses Ensuring that the company complies with all tax laws and regulations Providing tax planning advice to minimize liabilities 4 Auditing and Internal Controls Ensuring internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and prevent fraud Assisting with audits both internal and external and ensuring all records are accurate Identifying areas for improving financial processes and controls 5 Compliance and Regulation Keeping up to date with changes in financial regulations and tax laws Ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all applicable regulations Reporting to government agencies as required 6 Accounts Payable and Receivable Managing the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely payment and collections Communicating with vendors customers and other stakeholders regarding payments
