Job Description : E-Commerce Marketplace Lead

About the Role
Homecentre through its Marketplace offers an enhanced product offering to customers on its online platform by connecting with brands and suppliers who are based in GCC and providing them with a platform to sell. The ideal candidate for this role is expected to define the roadmap for the growth and development of the seller network while collaborating with cross-function teams such as merchandising, marketing, supply chain, finance and digital. Key traits that are essential for this role include an inherent passion for developing a business model from scratch, the ability to work with a high level of flexibility and uncertainty, data and metrics-driven approach to business and stakeholder management. The candidate is expected to be detail-oriented, comfortable with meeting tight deadlines and willing to go the extra mile to meet business objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own and drive the Marketplace P&L
- Define a strategic roadmap for building and growing a Home marketplace in GCC
- Continuously evolve drivers for the success of the channel, including criteria for seller & assortment selection, metrics to be targeted to enhance customer satisfaction and overall profitability of the channel
- Identify opportunities, evaluate their business feasibility and devise a go-to-market approach for each opportunity
- End-to-end ownership of all marketplace processes and operations, to ensure a best-in-class experience for sellers at every stage of the partnership
- Evaluate the performance of the channel, by identifying opportunities to enhance metrics as well as correcting areas of under or non-performance with well-defined action plans
- Develop and lead a team of business development managers, account managers and content executives to onboard a curated set of sellers and manage their relationships
- Collaborate with a diverse set of teams, including platform merchandising, supply chain, technology, finance, and marketing among others to ensure seamless business operations
- Deliver on monthly and annual channel targets including GMV, NPS, and Profitability, by achieving required seller network growth and optimizing operating costs
Requirements
Master’s degree in business / math / commerce from reputed universities; MBA from top B-schools is a plus10+ years of experience in a marketplace setup with functional experience in vendor & category management, developing and leading programs and managing large teams; experience in GCC market or Home category is a plusProven experience in creating business plans & forecasts, budgeting for plans, conducting business reviews with stakeholders and driving on-time execution of aligned plansHigh entrepreneurial drive and excellent problem-solving skillsSound understanding of technology and product management skills related to a marketplace platformOthers
