Qualification

Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; OR
-
ITI Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or equivalent technical trade.
Experience Required
-
Minimum 4 years of relevant Gulf experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Industrial Utilities, or Oil Field facilities.

Proven hands-on experience in HVAC control systems, PLC, DCS, control valves, instrumentation calibration, and maintenance activities.
Job Purpose
The Instrument Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of field instrumentation, industrial control systems, and HVAC automation systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation & Control Systems
-
Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
-
Install, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments.
-
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and DCS (Distributed Control System) equipment.
-
Test, calibrate, and maintain control valves, actuators, valve positioners, and associated accessories.
-
Troubleshoot analog and digital control signals, including 0–10 VDC and 4–20 mA loops.
-
Conduct loop checking, signal verification, commissioning, and functional testing activities.
-
Perform cable continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and instrument performance verification.
-
Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and instrument datasheets.
-
Configure and troubleshoot field instruments using HART communicators and calibration equipment.
HVAC Control Systems
-
Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC control systems including AHUs, FCUs, package units, chilled water systems, and ventilation systems.
-
Troubleshoot HVAC controllers, sensors, actuators, thermostats, VFDs, dampers, and control panels.
-
Calibrate HVAC temperature, humidity, pressure, and airflow sensors.
-
Maintain and troubleshoot DDC (Direct Digital Control) and BMS (Building Management System) interfaces.
-
Verify HVAC control sequences, safety interlocks, and system functionality.
-
Diagnose communication issues between HVAC equipment and control systems.
-
Assist in HVAC commissioning, testing, and performance optimization activities.
-
Coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical maintenance teams to ensure reliable HVAC operations.

HSE & Compliance Responsibilities

Follow Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and company HSE procedures.

Ensure compliance with site safety regulations and operational standards.

Participate in shutdowns, turnarounds, plant outages, and emergency maintenance activities.

Maintain safe work practices in hazardous and industrial environments.

Experience Summary
