Archirodon has been awarded a major Oil & Gas EPC project in UAE, and is currently building a team of experienced Lead Engineers, who will be based in our UAE office and lead the multidiscipline Engineering of the project.
Project includes the detailed engineering and design, quality assurance and control, procurement/supply, interface management, construction/installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning/start-up of Hydrocarbon & non-Hydrocarbon systems and management including all works required for the job completion. The main objective of this brownfield project is to increase the production handling capacity by adding a new Production Train and associated facilities at an existing Central Degassing Station and a new gas lift compressor train at another existing Central Degassing Station.
Role Summary:
The Lead Design Engineer – Piping will report to the Division Engineering Manager and will be responsible for leading and coordinating piping engineering activities across multiple projects, from feasibility and detailed engineering through commissioning and startup phases.
Lead the design, development, and integration of piping systems for oil & gas projects, including pipelines, process lines, and associated equipment (pumps, compressors, heat exchangers).
Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, ISO) for piping design and material selection.
Develop and review piping design deliverables, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), isometric drawings, stress analysis reports, and material specifications.
Oversee the preparation and review of technical specifications, datasheets, and vendor documents for piping components and equipment.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, process) to ensure seamless integration of piping systems.
Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of piping systems.
Lead and mentor Junior/ Senior engineers, fostering technical growth and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Conduct detailed technical evaluations of vendor documents, equipment bids, and submittals related to piping.
Manage the piping design process, ensuring project completion within budget and timeline constraints.
Review and approve piping drawings and design documents, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
Participate in risk analysis, HAZOP studies, and design reviews, focusing on process safety and piping integrity.
What you will need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
24 years in Oil & Gas projects with a strong focus on mechanical piping design and engineering.
Minimum 18 years working with EPC contractors across the Gulf region, handling large-scale and complex projects.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Previous experience in EPC projects is mandatory.
Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) – spoken and written.
Excellent English communication skills – spoken and written
