Job Description

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Planning Engineer to manage medium to large scale Maintenance, Roads and Infrastructure Construction Projects in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate must have bachelor's degree in engineering with minimum of 3 years of experience in their discipline with at least 2 years acting in the proposed role on similar projects of similar size and complexity in UAE. Must have been involved in at least 2 Projects within the Emirates of Dubai in the last 3 years. Must have good English language skills and have a strong working knowledge of Authorities procedures and standards mainly in Dubai. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing project schedules and reports, mitigation and/ or revised schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery in compliance with client and authority requirements and etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 as must skills and MS Project as additional skills, covering all construction phases from mobilization to handover.
• Full planning skills in preparation Cost loaded Program, Resource loaded Program, Change Log, KPI, EOT's and..etc.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the baseline schedule as well as to identify any major risks along with action plan in line with management directions.
• Prepare look-ahead programs, progress reports, Mitigation plans, crushed plans and recovery plans in case of delays.
• Conduct regular site visits and any required visits to verify actual progress against planned timelines in UAE.
• Integrate project milestones and deliverables with Authorities NOC's approval processes, traffic diversion programs, and authority permits.
• Analyze critical path, float, and resource allocation to optimize project timelines.
• Participate in project progress meetings and provide presentations updates to management and client representatives.
• Good knowledge experience in delay analysis (Time Impact Analysis, Window Analysis) and contractual correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with project planning guidelines and coordinate closely with project control teams.
• Maintain and update project documentation, schedules, and reports in coordination with document control.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in Maintenance, Roads and Infrastructure Construction Projects.
• Bachelor's degree Engineer with minimum of 3 years of experience in their discipline with at least 2 years acting in the proposed role on similar projects of similar size in the UAE. Must have been involved in at least 2 Projects within the Emirates of Dubai in the last 3 years.
• Proven experience working with similar projects, familiar with their procedures, submittals, and reporting formats and etc.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and project workflows.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Must have good English language skills.

Additional Information

Planning Engineer position on Maintenance, Roads and Infrastructure. The candidate should ideally have the following experience:

Essential Experience

• 3–5+ years of planning and project controls experience in construction.
• Proven experience with similar projects in UAE.
• Experience preparing and managing:
  • Baseline Programmes
  • Recovery Programmes
  • Revised Programmes
  • Weekly and Monthly Programme Updates
  • Resource and Cost Loaded Schedule
  • Experience preparing planning reports, S-curves, productivity analysis, and KPIs.
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project management teams.

Strong Technical Knowledge

• Infrastructure and Roads construction methodology, including:
  • Earthworks, utilities installation (stormwater, sewer, water supply, and telecommunications), pavement construction, asphalt and concrete works, traffic management, drainage systems, Repairing works for bridge and structural elements, road safety requirements, construction sequencing.
  • Heavy lifting operations
• Understanding of temporary works and structure logistics.

Contractual Knowledge

• FIDIC Contracts.
• Claims.
• Progress measurement and earned value management.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.

• PMP certification (preferred).
• Primavera P6 Professional Certification.
• Experience in UAE projects, particularly with RTA, DM or similar clients.
