About the Role
As the Engineering Coordinator, operating within our design engineering team, you will oversee and organise the daily activities of engineering staff, helping to keep track of schedule, deliverables and documentation. This role focuses on project delivery across the Middle East region in collaboration with cross functional teams and in full support of company strategy and goals for the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Control, log, and distribute engineering deliverables, (technical specifications, submittals, drawings, CAD files).
- Manage formal incoming and outgoing document transmittals with partners, vendors, clients and subcontractors.
- Coordinate internal technical communication between the design engineering, manufacturing, project management and site teams.
- Assist in tracking Bill of Materials (BOM) and vendor submittals.
- Help track Request for Information (RFI) logs and distribute engineering clarifications to site teams.
- Organise and minute collaborative meetings, ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Revision control engineering deliverables and update the master document register to prevent the use of outdated information.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, project coordination and on-site inspection efforts to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain project tracking data to ensure accurate visibility into the team's current workload and progress.
- Facilitates communication between customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
Implement and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor manufacturing schedules and construction timelines to ensure engineering deliverables are ready on time.
- Schedules onboarding of new employees, regular training sessions, and project review sessions.
- Support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Support the global engineering strategy for Tate products that align with the organization's market position and enable tailored design solutions to be developed that meet the specific needs and challenges of cloud-based environments.
Provide regular reports and updates to management, on performance, milestones, and potential risks.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education:
A degree in Information Management, Construction Management, Project Management, or a technical degree in an Engineering field.
Additional certifications in records management, project coordination or document control systems a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience of 2 to 5 years working directly within a manufacturing plant, engineering firm, or construction site office.
Skills
High attention to detail, strong organizational and planning skills, and the ability to handle rapid design changes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Experience with project management software and document management systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products.
Advanced skills in MS Excel for tracking large document registers, submittals, and RFI logs.
- Proven ability to build strong, open, and honest relationships with key project stakeholders.
Proven ability to anticipate on-time delivery roadblocks and make recommendations to overcome them.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to navigate 3D modelling software like SolidWorks, Inventor, Onshape, CADWorx, Plant3D, Revit or Navisworks a plus.
