The Pediatric Endocrinology Consultant focuses on diagnosing and managing hormonal and metabolic disorders in children and adolescents within a multidisciplinary, patient-centered team. Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, growth and puberty concerns, and metabolic conditions.Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations, follow-up care, and long-term management of chronic endocrine diseases.Order, interpret, and oversee diagnostic investigations such as hormone assays, imaging studies, and dynamic endocrine testing.Develop individualized treatment and management plans tailored to each child’s condition.Collaborate with pediatricians, dietitians, geneticists, surgeons, and other specialists to provide integrated care.Manage emergency endocrine conditions such as diabetic ketoacidosis, adrenal crisis, and severe hypoglycemia.Educate and counsel children and families on disease management, treatment adherence, and lifestyle modifications.Supervise, mentor, and support junior doctors, residents, and fellows in pediatric endocrinology.Participate in departmental clinical research, academic activities, and quality improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.#J-18808-Ljbffr
