Genetic Counsellor

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Genetic Counsellor to join our client's team in Abu Dhabi. This position is within one of the UAE's largest government-affiliated healthcare networks, recognized for its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical research.

The successful candidate will provide expert genetic counselling to patients and families, helping them understand and adapt to the medical, psychological, and familial implications of genetic conditions. Responsibilities include :

• Providing genetic counselling to individuals, couples, and families regarding inherited conditions and genetic risks.
• Reviewing patient medical histories and family pedigrees to assess potential genetic disorders.
• Explaining complex genetic concepts in an understandable manner to help patients make informed decisions.
• Coordinating genetic testing, interpreting results, and discussing findings with patients and healthcare teams.
• Offering support and guidance to patients coping with genetic diagnoses.
• Collaborating with physicians, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
• Maintaining detailed patient records in compliance with confidentiality and healthcare regulations.
• Participating in public health education, awareness programs, and genetic research initiatives.
• Staying current with developments in medical genetics and counselling techniques.
