Overview

Aldar Academies are seeking an outstanding Early Years Foundation Stage Class Teacher for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing January 2026.

Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum school with a Lower, Middle and Senior School model, located in a state-of-the-art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The school aims to provide high-quality learning opportunities for its students, guided by a vision of a sustainable and innovative learning community.

Responsibilities

  • Qualities and attributes : a supportive and approachable team player who can collaborate effectively with others; good communicator at all levels; commitment to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community; desire to be part of a school that strives for excellence; passion to inspire learning in young students.
  • Teaching and learning : be able to teach all areas of the Early Years Curriculum; thorough knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Curriculum; organise the classroom, learning resources and displays to encourage a positive learning environment and support the Mamoura British Academy USP; plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range; provide support and interventions for students with EAL or additional learning needs; motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation; evidence children’s work and learning in line with the school’s marking and feedback policy; reflect on lessons and student progress, adjusting planning and curriculum accordingly; collaborate with other professionals (e.g., speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists) if required; embed the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes throughout the curriculum; contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practice and participating in CPD and T&L initiatives; demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative and creative lesson delivery and continuous provision.
  • Assessment and data : take responsibility for attainment and progress of a class of children in the EYFS to meet above-expected progress; meet requirements for assessment and recording using Learning Ladders; use assessment data to influence planning and interventions; provide regular feedback to parents and carers at Parent–Teacher Conferences and other meetings; plan, prepare and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings.
  • Behaviour management and duties : follow the school behaviour policy and promote TRACK Values; manage classes effectively to inspire and challenge pupils; maintain positive relationships with pupils and parents and follow procedures to manage rare behavioural concerns; be a positive role model and demonstrate the attitudes and behaviour expected of pupils; carry out playground and other duties punctually and proactively; address safeguarding and behavioural concerns and log them as required in the school system (CPOMS).
  • Wider professional responsibilities : contribute to a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and events; assist with organising and participating in school events, outings and activities (including weekends or evenings); communicate effectively with parents / carers about student achievements and well-being; contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school; run a weekly extracurricular activity each term to enhance provision.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications : A Bachelor degree in Education or a Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum Experience : Teaching experience in the English National Curriculum; EYFS experience preferred.
  • Job Specific Knowledge & Skills : Teaching across the age / ability range with proven success; experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum; strong interpersonal skills; commitment to the school’s Vision and Mission; passion for education and belief in the potential of every student; ability to work under pressure, problem-solve and be resilient; commitment to continuing professional development (CPD); experience of working in more than one international school desirable.
