Overview

Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial Advisory, Legal & Recovery Department, Legal Division at Mashreq Corporate & Investment Banking Group. To lead and deliver high-level legal advisory services across a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, supporting strategic initiatives, complex transactions, and governance frameworks within the Bank. The role ensures legal risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and alignment with enterprise-wide objectives, operating with autonomy and senior-level decision-making authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements including intra-group arrangements, outsourcing, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, and service contracts.
• Provide legal counsel on corporate structuring, group reorganizations, and strategic initiatives across UAE and international jurisdictions.
• Advice on governance matters including delegated authorities, board mandates, powers of attorney, and regulatory disclosures.
• Represent the Legal Division in senior-level engagements with internal stakeholders, regulators, and external parties.
• Contribute to Bank-wide initiatives including AI integration, digital transformation, and innovation in banking services.
• Mentor junior legal staff and promote best practices in legal advisory and compliance.
