Job Title: Model Maker/ Miniature Artist
Position Overview:
The Miniature Artist / Model Maker plays a key role in transforming creative concepts into finely crafted physical models and miniatures. This position involves hands-on fabrication, painting, and detailing of miniature figures, structures, and environments using materials such as resin, foam, wood, metal, and plastic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble miniature figures, structures, and scenery using materials such as plastic, resin, foam, wood, and metal.
- Paint, detail, and weather models with precision and consistency, ensuring color and texture accuracy across custom or batch pieces.
- Develop masking and painting templates; perform airbrush, spray, and fine brushwork; and apply decals or special coatings accurately.
- Build prototypes, perform repairs or modifications, and support custom client requests.
- Maintain an organized studio workspace, manage tools and materials, and follow safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with designers, set builders, and production teams on model integration and finishing.
- Assist with installation, presentation, or display preparation for clients or exhibitions when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant field
- Proven experience in miniature modeling, sculpting, or fine-scale craftsmanship.
- Strong painting and finishing skills (airbrush and hand-painting experience required).
- Proficiency in using model-making tools, adhesives, and finishing materials.
- Excellent attention to detail, precision, and steady hand for delicate, repetitive operations.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Experience in prototype building or restoration is a plus.
