This role can be based in any Baker McKenzie office or Centre. The Practice Innovation Lawyer – Banking & Finance will be at the forefront of transforming how one of the world’s leading law firms delivers value to clients. The role‑holder will combine relevant legal expertise with an ability to innovate the practice of law using cutting‑edge technology and an advanced understanding of process and design to advance the strategy of the Firm’s practices.

Main Responsibilities

• Partner with the Banking & Finance Practice Group leadership team to identify, prioritise and deliver strategic innovation initiatives
• Work with the Practice Group to design solutions that combine people, process, data, and technology to create new client value
• Act as the “single front door” for Practice lawyers to access Applied AI, Legal Project Management (LPM), Alternative Legal Services (ALS), Data, Innovation and other support resources across the Firm
• Be client‑facing and support Partners in your Practice on client pitches and conversations
• Report to Practice Group leadership on the progress of innovation initiatives within the Practice

US‑Based Applicants

Bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision and 401(k), based on hours worked. Base compensation is expected to be US$365,000 to US$435,000 annually, determined by location and other factors.

Canadian‑Based Applicants

Bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision and Group RRSP, based on hours worked. Base compensation is expected to be CAN$205,400 to CAN$229,930 annually, determined by location and other factors.
