Job Description
- Ensure day to day activities of the contactors are carried out in accordance with set policy
- Deliver occupational health and safety (OHS) awareness sessions and task specific training for staff, faculty, students, and contractors (e.g., fire safety, confined space).
- Promote a proactive safety culture through campaigns, workshops, and awareness events.
- Participate in regular joint safety inspections across all university buildings, facilities, equipment, and campus grounds.
- Support collaborative efforts to monitor the condition, maintenance, and readiness of fire safety systems, such as extinguishers, alarms, and sprinkler systems.
- Assist in coordinating with third-party service providers to ensure compliance with campus safety standards during construction and maintenance projects.
- Maintain organized records of training sessions, safety inspections, incident reports, and safety-related meetings.
- Participate in university safety and emergency planning committees, as required.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly OHS performance reports for submission to the OHS Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Contractor Management or a related discipline (equivalency preferred).5-10 years of experience in Health & Safety, including at least 3 years in UAE.Strong knowledge of OHS legislation, ISO standards (ISO 45001), and compliance frameworks.Familiarity with Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines, ADOSH codes, Civil Defense codes and other relevant local authority regulations.IOSH, NEBOSH qualification.
