About the Role
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in leading day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the finance leadership team in maintaining compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations. The role requires a hands-on individual with experience in a high-growth or FinTech environment.
Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting & Reporting : Prepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing; Maintain general ledger; Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS; Assist with consolidation of accounts across multiple entities.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable : Oversee vendor payments, reconciliations, and aging reports; Manage accounts receivable including reconciliation and follow-ups; Ensure all invoices, receipts, and supporting documents are maintained and compliant.
- Compliance & Audit : Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including filing and reconciliation; Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries; Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant UAE regulations.
- Financial Analysis & Controls : Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets; Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Cross-Functional Support : Liaise with other departments (operations, product, legal) to ensure financial alignment; Support the finance manager in strategic initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) is highly desirable.4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or fast-paced industries.Advanced Excel skills.Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.Benefits
