Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to lead and deliver specialized eye care services for children at a prestigious hospital in Saudi Arabia. The role involves clinical excellence, surgical expertise, and active participation in teaching and research within a multidisciplinary pediatric team.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert diagnosis and treatment of pediatric eye conditions, including strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, and retinopathy of prematurity
- Perform pediatric ophthalmic surgeries and advanced diagnostic procedures
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and fellows
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neurologists, and geneticists in complex case management
- Participate in academic activities, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and hospital policies
- Contribute to the development of pediatric ophthalmology services and community outreach programs
Qualifications & Requirements
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in OphthalmologyFellowship or subspecialty certification in Pediatric OphthalmologyBoard-certified (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, Arab Board, or equivalent)Minimum 3–5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric ophthalmologySCFHS Consultant classification eligibility is mandatoryProficiency in English; Arabic is an advantageDataflow verification and professional references requiredPreferred Attributes
