IT Security Professional

The IT Security Professional is responsible for safeguarding the organizations computer systems networks and data from cyber threats unauthorized access and vulnerabilities They develop and implement security measures monitor security infrastructure and respond to security incidents to ensure the integrity confidentiality and availability of information Key Responsibilities Design implement and manage security protocols and policies Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity using security tools and software Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analyses Respond promptly to security breaches threats and incidents Maintain and update firewalls antivirus and intrusion detection prevention systems Ensure compliance with industry security standards and regulations Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness Maintain documentation of security policies procedures and incident reports Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field Professional certifications such as CISSP CISM CEH or CompTIA Security Proven experience in cybersecurity network security or IT security roles Strong understanding of firewalls VPNs IDS IPS and other security tools Knowledge of operating systems Windows Linux network protocols and scripting Analytical and problemsolving skills Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
