Job Description
- Coordinate and follow up on all Engineering maintenance requests, work orders, and pending jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain and update the Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring all planned activities are completed and properly recorded.
- Coordinate daily Engineering activities with technicians and other hotel departments.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, inspections, meter readings, and completed work orders.
- Follow up on guest room, public area, kitchen, laundry, plant room, and other departmental maintenance requests.
- Assist the Engineering team in preparing reports, checklists, maintenance schedules, and other departmental documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for maintenance works, quotations, spare parts, and scheduled servicing as required.
- Monitor Engineering inventory, tools, spare parts, and departmental supplies and assist with purchase requests when required.
- Follow up on outstanding and pending maintenance works and provide regular status updates to the Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer.
- Ensure required documentation for statutory inspections, equipment servicing, and preventive maintenance is properly maintained.
- Assist in monitoring energy and utility consumption, including meter readings, and report unusual consumption or equipment issues.
- Coordinate access, keys, master cards, ladders, machines, tools, and other Engineering equipment through proper sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Ensure Engineering records and activities comply with hotel safety, hygiene, HACCP, and operational standards.
- Support the department during emergencies such as fire alarms, water leaks/flooding, gas alarms, power interruptions, and equipment breakdowns by coordinating the appropriate response.
- Report hazards, equipment misuse, energy wastage, or unsafe conditions to the Engineering Manager.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments regarding maintenance schedules, shutdowns, repairs, and completion of requests.
- Assist with departmental attendance, duty rosters, administrative requirements, filing, and other Engineering coordination tasks as assigned.
- Follow all hotel and Engineering department policies, procedures, service standards, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- 2 years Trade Certificate in Kitchen/LPG and laundry electrical.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar field, Hotel experience is preferred.
- Practical and theoretical skills in kitchen and laundry equipment and fire suppression system
- Languages: Conversant in English and Arabic is an added advantage. Previous experience with pool and spa experience is an asset.
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as a part of a team with minimal supervision.
