Senior - Site Engineer

Job Description

The Project Engineer role requires a proactive professional who can manage costings, liaise with suppliers and contractors, and ensure the successful delivery of projects within budget and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in luxury interiors, a strong understanding of project management, and an ability to oversee site operations efficiently.

Requirements

Site Supervision

• Oversee and supervise on-site activities, ensuring that all construction and design work meets the specified quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  
• Monitor progress and liaise with site teams to resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the construction process.
  
• Maintain a routine schedule of site visits throughout the project lifecycle
  

Reviewing Drawings and Specifications::

• Thoroughly review architectural and design drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility in terms of cost and materials.
  
• Ensure that all designs align with the project's budget, schedule, and client requirements.
  
• Provide feedback on design elements that could impact the cost or timeline of the project.
  

Scheduling and Timeline Management:

• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring that all phases of the project are completed on time.
  
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and design teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  
• Ensure production team on time and on schedule and report to management any delays
  
• Regularly update stakeholders on project timelines, delays, or changes in the schedule
  

Supplier and Contractor Management::

• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure that all materials and services are delivered on time, to specification, and within budget.
  
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers and contractors, ensuring best value for the company.
  
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and quality standards.
  
• Tendering process and review BOQs
  
• Utilise and develop company software to enhance efficiency and data
  
• Ensure maintenance of materials library
  

Contract Administration:

• Prepare and manage contracts for suppliers, subcontractors, and other third parties.
  
• Ensure compliance with all contractual terms and conditions.
  
• Address any disputes or issues that arise between the company, contractors, or clients.
  
• Ensure client signs off on completion
  

Reporting and Documentation:

• Provide regular reports on cost performance, site progress, and potential risks.
  
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all project-related financial transactions, agreements, and communications.
  
• Ensure that all documentation complies with legal and company standards.
  

Requirements
What We’re Looking For: Education: Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a draughtsman in the interior design or architectural industry. Software Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant 3D modeling and rendering software. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and building codes. Attention to Detail: Ability to produce highly accurate technical drawings with excellent attention to detail. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a team, mentor junior staff, and manage workloads effectively. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying and resolving design and technical issues quickly and efficiently. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-end residential and hospitality/commercial interior design projects. Certification in project management or design software.
