The IT Support Technician provides technical assistance and support to endusers experiencing hardware software or network issues They ensure the smooth functioning of IT systems troubleshoot technical problems and assist in maintaining the organization s IT infrastructure Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to user inquiries via phone email or in person regarding hardware software or network issues Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to desktops laptops printers and other peripherals Install configure and update computer hardware and software applications Maintain and troubleshoot network connectivity issues Perform routine maintenance and updates on systems and software Assist in setting up new equipment and preparing workstations for new employees Document issues solutions and activities in ticketing systems Escalate complex issues to higherlevel support or vendors when necessary Ensure security protocols are followed including virus protection and data backup Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets Provide training and guidance to users on basic IT procedures and best practices Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field Relevant certifications e g CompTIA A Microsoft Certified are a plus Basic understanding of hardware operating systems and networking Proven experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail Good communication and customer service skills
