About you:

We seek to appoint anoutstanding Headof English to lead our department and driveexcellence across our Secondary school. This is a teaching and middleleadership role, and the successful candidate will maintain an active teachingcommitment, including the ability to deliver English to a high standardacross Secondary.

Weare looking for a candidate who:

·Is dynamic, enthusiastic, and well-qualified, holding at minimum a B.Ed.or a B.A. with a PGCE in English, along with QTS.

·Has a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning,including experience teaching English at Key Stage 3, GCSE & A Level withstrong student outcomes.

·Demonstrates the ability to balance strategic leadership with an activeteaching timetable, modelling exemplary classroom practice.

·Provides clear strategic direction for the English faculty, ensuringhigh-quality teaching, learning, and achievement across all phases.

·Leads, mentors, and develops a team of English teachers, fostering acollaborative, high-performing, and accountable culture.

·Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation andthe sharing of best practice within the department.

·Embodies a growth mindset, being reflective, adaptable, and solutionfocused.

·Is creative, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking, with the ability toinspire both students and staff.

·Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, buildingstrong relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.

·Uses data and assessment effectively to inform decision-making, raiseattainment, and improve student progress.
