Associate Staff Physician, Cardiac Surgery For Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi

JOB SUMMARY:

UNDER THE SUPERVISION, GUIDANCE AND APPROVAL OF CONSULTANT STAFF:
− Monitors and provides care to patients at CCAD within the Cardiac Surgery specialty
− Prescribes or administers medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
− Analyzes records, reports and test results to diagnose patient’s medical condition
− Interacts with patient to gather additional history and information about medical condition
− Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patient
− Provides specific treatments and/or performs operations to treat patient medical conditions
− Evaluates patient and records applicable notes about patient’s condition for purposes of serving as a record of treatment and / or a possible referral to another member of the health care professional team
− Liaisons with other medical and non-medical staff at CCAD to ensure quality patient treatment
− Performs surgical procedures and operations within the scope of Cardiac Surgery and according to Department of Health and Hospital privileges
− Supplies and provides care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner
− Takes part in administrative functions that ensure the continued operations of the clinical environment, such as committees, task forces and performance improvement measures
− Provide hospital on-call in patient coverage as deemed necessary
− Follows ethical and regulatory guidelines
− Adheres to individual approved clinical privileges, as well as to all policies and procedures of the Physician Staff.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

− For Associate Staff (Specialist) from Tier 1 and Tier 2 countries, no additional experience required post board certification.
− For Associate Staff (Specialist) from Tier 3, not less than 3 years clinical experience as Specialist post qualification in internationally accredited institute. UAE nationals, require not less than one year experience post qualification in the specialty field.
− Should meet the Maintenance of Certification requirements (where applicable)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

MD, MBBS, MBChB or DO or equivalent qualification from an accredited Institution and completion of specialty qualification as per the Recognized Specialty Certificate table listed in Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements
