Black & Grey HR is partnering with a leading diversified oil & gas services group with operations across the UAE, delivering integrated solutions to the energy sector. The Group is seeking an experienced Group General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership, safeguard the organization's interests, and support business growth across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the principal legal advisor to the Board, Group CEO, and executive leadership.
- Lead the Group's legal strategy, governance, and corporate compliance framework.
- Oversee complex commercial contracts, service agreements, joint ventures, M&A transactions, and strategic partnerships.
- Advise on corporate structuring, cross-border operations, and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage litigation, disputes, arbitration, and external legal counsel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, corporate governance standards, and risk management practices.
- Support business expansion initiatives while balancing commercial objectives with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Build and lead a high-performing legal function, driving best practices and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB); Master's degree (LLM) or equivalent legal qualification preferred.
- Proven experience as General Counsel or senior legal leader within an oil & gas group.
- 15+ years of experience in corporate law, commercial contracting, M&A, governance, compliance, dispute resolution, and cross-border legal matters.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and provide commercially focused legal advice.
- Experience managing legal teams across multiple business units and jurisdictions.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
