About the Role

We are looking for a Structural Sales Engineer to join our team in Dubai, supporting the continued growth of our data centre business across the Middle East.

This is a customer-facing technical role that combines structural engineering expertise with commercial support and stakeholder management. Working closely with clients, consultants, sales teams, and engineering colleagues, you will help develop technical solutions, support tender activities, and ensure customer requirements are translated into innovative, practical, and commercially viable proposals.

The role offers significant exposure to international projects and requires regular travel across the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary structural engineering contact for clients, consultants, and internal commercial teams during pre-contract and early project phases
• Lead technical clarification meetings, design workshops, and customer site or factory visits
• Translate client requirements, specifications, and performance criteria into clear technical scopes for internal and external design teams
• Develop structural design strategies for bids and early-stage projects, ensuring compliance with data centre requirements and constructability principles
• Coordinate internal design resources and external consultants to deliver high-quality technical solutions
• Prepare technical submissions, design narratives, and supporting documentation for client approvals
• Support commercial teams with scope definition, quantity reviews, estimating inputs, and technical clarifications
• Review construction drawings and specifications to develop suitable product recommendations and engineering solutions
• Support the transition from sales to project delivery, ensuring technical continuity and scope clarity
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Commercial, and Product Development teams to drive innovation and business growth
• Track industry trends and customer requirements to support future product development and market positioning
• Represent Tate at industry events, conferences, and customer engagement activities

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
• Experience working on data centre, mission-critical, industrial, or complex construction projects
• Strong understanding of front-end design, tendering, bid management, and pre-contract project phases
• Experience engaging directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior stakeholders
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documentation
• Experience supporting estimating activities, cost inputs, or technical sales functions
• Strong technical understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methodologies
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Teams
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Revit would be advantageous
• Understanding of data centre infrastructure and mission-critical environments is beneficial
• Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 50%), predominantly across the Middle East
