Pump Mechanic Pump Technician

Roles Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic Pump Technician to join our Facilities Management team The ideal candidate will have handson experience in the installation maintenance troubleshooting overhaul and repair of various types of pumps used in commercial residential and industrial facilities The responsibilities will include but not limited to 1 Preventive Maintenance PM Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance for all pumps as per FM maintenance plan Inspect and maintain Pump body and casing Mechanical seals Bearings Couplings Shafts Motors Valves and strainers Base frames and alignment Check lubrication requirements and replace lubricants as required Ensure all pump rooms are clean and accessible 2 Daily Inspection Monitoring Conduct routine inspections of pump systems and record readings Pressure Flow Temperature Vibration Noise level Leakage Running hours Identify abnormal conditions and report immediately 3 Breakdown Maintenance Attend emergency pump failures and troubleshoot faults Diagnose issues such as Pump not starting Low pressure flow Excessive vibration Seal leakage Motor overheating Bearing failure Blockage issues Carry out repair and replacement of defective components 4 Pump Alignment Testing Perform pump and motor alignment checks Verify coupling condition Conduct operational testing after repair Ensure pumps are returned to service safely 5 ZooSpecific Pump Systems Support Responsible for maintenance of pumps related to Animal holding area water systems Filtration systems Life support systems if applicable Fountain water feature pumps Drainage sewage pumps Storm water pumps Domestic water booster pumps Firefighting pumps HVAC chilled water pumps Transfer pumps 6 Electrical Interface Coordinate with electrical technicians for Motor faults MCC issues Control panel alarms VFD faults Sensors and switches Technician should not modify electrical systems unless authorized 7 Spare Parts Management Maintain minimum stock of critical pump spares Mechanical seals Bearings Gaskets Couplings Orings Impellers critical pumps Belts if applicable Report spare requirements 8 Documentation Reporting Complete maintenance records Update CMMS work orders Prepare breakdown reports Maintain pump asset history Record replaced parts 9 Safety Responsibilities Follow Permit to Work PTW requirements Use proper PPE Maintain safe pump room conditions 10 Coordination with FM Team Coordinate with FM Supervisor Life Science team Security Operations teams Inform before isolations shutdowns Ensure minimum operational impact Desired Candidate Profile Mechanical diploma technical certification 3 5 years pump maintenance experience Experience with centrifugal pumps submersible pumps booster systems Knowledge of mechanical seals and alignment Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
