The Role
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure financial accuracy, maintain compliance, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable working across multiple business functions in a dynamic technology company.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet accounts.
Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee expense claims.
Prepare customer invoices and monitor collections.
Assist in preparing monthly management reports and financial statements.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and assist with tax filings.
Support external audits and provide required documentation.
Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS).
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Zoho Books, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar).
Experience preparing financial reports and performing month-end close.
Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis).
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent (completed or in progress).
Experience working in a technology, SaaS, AI, or high-growth startup environment.
Experience supporting audits and financial compliance.
Familiarity with automation tools and modern finance systems.
