Trade Finance Specialist

An international commodities trading business is looking for a Trade Finance Specialist to support trade finance activities across Treasury and Trading. The role will focus on financing solutions, banking relationships, collateral management, and ensuring efficient, well-controlled trade finance operations within a fast-growing trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage Letters of Credit, guarantees, and other trade finance instruments from issuance through to completion.
2. Review trade documentation and ensure compliance with financing requirements.
3. Structure and support trade finance solutions, including inventory and invoice financing.
4. Build and manage relationships with banks, insurers, and financial institutions.
5. Monitor and record all trade finance transactions and identify funding opportunities.
6. Manage collateral movements, margin calls, and liquidity requirements.
7. Partner with Trading, Treasury, Finance, and Operations to minimise risk and support commercial activities.

Experience:

1. 5+ years' experience in trade finance, ideally within commodity trading or oil & gas.
2. Strong knowledge of Letters of Credit, guarantees, invoice finance, and structured trade finance.
3. Experience working in a fast-paced trading environment.
4. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
5. Experience with trade finance platforms (e.g. Komgo) is advantageous.
6. Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and stakeholder management abilities.
7. Fluent English, both written and spoken.
