Job Purpose

The Site Engineer Civil will supervise and execute civil construction activities at site in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

The role involves coordinating manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, suppliers, and site documentation to ensure timely, safe, quality-focused, and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure execution of civil works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract documents, method statements, and project programmes.
• Review drawings and technical documents, identify discrepancies, and report issues to the Project Manager or Project Engineer for resolution.
• Prepare quantity take-offs for excavation, reinforcement, concrete, blockwork, plastering, painting, and other civil and building works.
• Monitor material reconciliation, equipment productivity, daily consumption, and resource utilization against approved budgets and project targets.
• Ensure civil works are completed within the approved programme, quality requirements, and cost-control objectives.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials at site.
• Inspect delivered materials and verify compliance with project specifications and approved requirements.
• Submit timely material requisitions to the Procurement/Purchase Department.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor their progress, workmanship, measurements, executed quantities, and compliance with project requirements.
• Verify subcontractor invoices and payment claims based on actual work completed and approved measurements.
• Lead and coordinate draughtsmen, foremen, chargehands, labour teams, and subcontractors.
• Allocate manpower daily according to the project programme and monitor workforce productivity.
• Set work targets and track daily and weekly progress to support achievement of project milestones.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support project activities through completion, testing, inspections, snagging, and handover.
• Maintain awareness of project budgets, costs, contractual obligations, commercial implications, and site-related risks.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements at site.
• Attend site meetings and assist with meeting preparation, minutes of meetings, progress updates, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily work diaries, material inward and outward records, GRNs, inspection records, progress reports, and other project documentation.
• Submit site expense claims, outsourced labour details, and subcontractor payment certificates to the Accounts Department within the required timelines.
• Undertake short-term planning and daily/weekly site coordination in line with the approved master programme.
• Support consultant and client inspections and ensure timely closure of site issues, observations, and non-conformances.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management in accordance with project and operational requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is an advantage.

Experience

• Overall experience of 5 8 years.
• Minimum 3 5 years of relevant experience as a Site Engineer Civil.
• Experience in building construction projects within the UAE or GCC is required.
• Dubai project experience is preferred.
• Experience in warehouse construction projects is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in Design & Build, Turnkey, or Build-to-Suit projects.

Certifications and Approvals

• PMP, QA/QC, or HSE certifications are preferred.
• Society of Engineers registration is preferred.
• Dubai Municipality accreditation is preferred, where applicable.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, sequencing, and site execution.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, and material reconciliation.
• Practical knowledge of concrete works, reinforcement, blockwork, plastering, painting, and general building construction.
• Ability to monitor quality requirements, site inspections, material approvals, and compliance checks.
• Good understanding of HSE standards and safe construction practices.
• Ability to monitor manpower, equipment, materials, productivity, and project costs.
• Ability to measure completed works and evaluate subcontractor quantities and claims.
