Air Q Limited is an advanced UAV technology and manufacturing company developing innovative unmanned aerial systems. We are looking for a Quality Inspector – End of Line to join our Quality team and ensure fully assembled UAVs meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements before final certification and release.
Job Purpose
The Quality Inspector – End of Line will be responsible for the final inspection, verification, and release of fully assembled UAVs.
The role focuses on avionics integration, electrical wiring and harnesses, propulsion systems, sensors, electronic subsystem calibration, configuration verification, and final functional testing to ensure every UAV is fit for its intended operation before shipment or deployment.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in preventing quality escapes and ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of released UAV units.
Key Responsibilities
1. Final Inspection & Verification
- Perform final visual and dimensional inspections of fully assembled UAVs against engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
- Verify correct installation and positioning of:
- Avionics systems
- Servos and actuators
- Propulsion systems
- Batteries
- Sensors
- Electronic components
- Inspect wiring harnesses, connectors, terminations, routing, and electrical connections.
- Verify electronic and avionics system calibration.
- Confirm functional test results and complete final inspection and engine-run checklists.
- Verify that UAVs meet applicable flight-readiness and quality requirements before release.
2. Build & Configuration Verification
- Verify UAV serial numbers, configuration, and build standard against work orders and approved documentation.
- Confirm that the correct components, software/configuration, and assemblies are installed.
- Ensure all required inspection and test activities have been completed before final release.
- Identify and immediately escalate any deviations or non-conformances.
3. Non-Conformance & Quality Control
- Raise NCRs in the ERP/QMS system for non-conforming units or components.
- Quarantine units that do not meet specified requirements.
- Support root cause analysis and disposition activities, including rework, repair, or scrap.
- Ensure corrective actions are properly documented and closed within the required timeframe.
- Analyse end-of-line defects to identify recurring upstream manufacturing or assembly issues.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, test results, and Certificates of Conformance.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, engineering specifications, and internal quality procedures.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102.
- Maintain proper revision control and traceability of quality documentation.
- Ensure QC documents are updated following approved process, engineering, or R&D changes.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
5. Process Support & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate with Assembly, Testing, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve inspection discrepancies.
- Approve and release conforming UAVs for packaging and shipment.
- Hold non-conforming UAVs from release until appropriate disposition is completed.
- Calibrate and maintain end-of-line inspection and test equipment.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of final inspection checklists and work instructions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and field failures.

Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Avionics, Mechatronics, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics, wiring harness inspection, avionics integration, or end-of-line testing.
- Experience in UAV, aerospace, aviation, or electronics manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Experience with final inspection, quality inspection, testing, or production verification is an advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, wiring harnesses, connectors, and termination standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience testing and calibrating avionics, propulsion, sensor, and electronic systems.
- Knowledge of UAV assembly, integration, and flight-readiness procedures.
- Familiarity with QMS/ERP systems, NCR, and CAPA processes.
- Experience with ground control software such as Mission Planner or QGroundControl for telemetry and system verification is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001.
- AS9100 Internal Auditor, ISO 9001, or other relevant quality certifications are an advantage.

Working Conditions
Primary Location: Air Q Limited – Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
