We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care, managing a broad range of elective and emergency general surgical conditions while ensuring safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of general surgical conditions in adult patients.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures within the scope of practice.
• Manage gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, colorectal, breast, hernia, and other general surgical conditions.
• Perform appropriate open, laparoscopic, and minimally invasive surgical procedures where qualified.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments and provide postoperative care and follow-up.
• Evaluate patients presenting with acute abdominal pain, surgical infections, trauma, and other urgent surgical conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic investigations, and patient needs.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, oncologists, and other specialists.
• Provide surgical consultations and second opinions for complex cases.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and expected outcomes.
• Ensure appropriate perioperative management, patient safety, and infection-control practices.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching activities where applicable.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery, in accordance with applicable UAE licensing requirements.
• Additional fellowship or advanced training in a relevant surgical subspecialty is desirable.
• Eligible for or holding a valid DHA Consultant license/eligibility in the relevant specialty.
• Demonstrated experience in general surgical diagnosis, treatment, and procedures.
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, surgical, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and continuous professional development.
