Specialist Psychiatrist Location Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates Employment Type FullTime Department Psychiatry Mental Health Position Specialist Psychiatrist About the Role We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Specialist Psychiatrist to join our medical team in Abu Dhabi The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment diagnosis treatment and followup care for adult patients presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise excellent communication skills sound professional judgment and a patientcentred approach to mental healthcare Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments including clinical history and mental status examinations Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric conditions including Depression and anxiety disorders Bipolar disorder Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders Obsessivecompulsive disorder Traumarelated disorders and PTSD Personality disorders Sleeprelated psychiatric conditions ADHD and other neuropsychiatric conditions where within scope of practice Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and current evidencebased practice Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications appropriately Monitor treatment response side effects medication adherence and clinical progress Provide psychotherapy or supportive psychological interventions where appropriately trained and within scope of practice Assess patients for suicide risk selfharm aggression and other psychiatric emergencies and initiate appropriate management Maintain accurate confidential and comprehensive medical records Coordinate care with psychologists neurologists therapists nurses and other healthcare professionals where required Provide appropriate referrals and multidisciplinary care when clinically indicated Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis treatment options medication and relapse prevention Participate in clinical governance quality improvement infection control patient safety and continuing professional development activities Comply with all applicable Department of Health DoH Abu Dhabi regulations facility policies clinical guidelines and professional standards
