About the Role

As the Piping Design Engineer, operating within our design engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization. Collaborating with diverse teams, you will drive the design, coordination and validation of bespoke piping systems, with focus on project delivery across the Middle East region. You will support the execution of ambitious growth plans, securing Tate's continued leadership in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the design of integrated piping systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and project specifications for data centre liquid cooling applications.

Specify piping materials, components, and fittings based on project requirements.

Prepare and review piping specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and technical reports.

Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate piping systems with overall project designs.

Perform piping stress analysis to ensure system integrity under various operating conditions.

Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting of piping systems.

Collaborate with customers to understand their design requirements, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and seamless integration of designs (from concept to full scale manufacturing).

Work cross functionally with internal teams (i.e. commercial, technical, project management, engineering, manufacturing) to identify new opportunities, develop conceptual designs and drawings to be presented to customers and prospective customers.

Support the global engineering strategy for Tate products that align with the organization's market position and enable tailored design solutions to be developed that meet the specific needs and challenges of cloud-based environments.

Contribute to project cost estimation and ensure designs are completed within budget and timeline.

Utilize cutting-edge engineering tools and methodologies to create compelling presentations and prototypes.

Support the development and implementation of standardized engineering practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all regions with all engineering efforts fully aligned with the organization's brand identity and messaging.

Provide regular reports and updates to management, on performance, milestones, and potential risks.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Education: A bachelor's degree in Design, Mechanical/Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience of no less than 4 years in a piping design and engineering role, preferably in a regional context within critical environments such as data centre, construction, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor or oil & gas industry.

Skills

Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control protocols.

Proficiency in 3D modelling, piping design and coordination software (e.g. PDMS, SP3D, Plant3D, CADWorx, Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Onshape).

Experience designing prefabricated, modular piping systems will be advantageous.

Good knowledge of piping instrumentation.

Proficiency in reading, interpreting and modifying P&IDs.

• Expertise in pipe stress analysis tools. (CAESAR II or similar)

Strong attention to detail and planning skills with a track record of driving design innovation.

• Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
• Experience developing new products and taking them from concept to prototype to production.

Knowledge of cloud-based environments and their impact on design requirements is preferred.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
